That is the general Virginia single-trip oversize/overweight permit rate. The total depends on the route. We do not calculate routes. We publish what the state publishes.

Official page: “Single Trip One move between origin and destination. $20 Note: A mileage fee of 30 cents per mile is added if overweight or if the vehicle configuration cannot be licensed in Virginia. Mobile homes and Manufactured housing will pay a flat fee of $1.00 in lieu of the 30 cents per mile fee.”

Printed lineFee
Single trip$20
If overweight or unlicensed-in-VA+ 30 cents per mile
Mobile homes and manufactured housing$1.00 flat in lieu of the mileage fee

Example, not a quote: 100 assumed miles at the printed 30 cents per mile, plus $20, is $20 + $30.00 = $50.00. The desk runs its own miles. We do not take origin or destination.

This page covers general single-trip permits. Mobile-home / manufactured-housing $1 in lieu of mileage is a separate printed line.

When this number took effect
